Harvesting Day: Volunteers Needed
Join us at the community garden to harvest for the hungry! Volunteers will help harvest and sort this season’s fruits and vegetables.
Important Info:
Dress for the weather, expecting to get dirty - no sandals or flip flops please. We provide gloves, drinking water, and on-the-job training.
All ages are welcome! Please make sure you provide adequate supervision for any young children.
Composting 101 Class
Composting is nature's way of recycling. Yard waste and food scraps are broken down and become food for plants. Whether you’re looking to keep food scraps out of the landfill (and reduce greenhouse gas emissions), learn helpful home composting tips, or have never heard of composting but are interested, this workshop is for you!
Vegetable Planting Workshop
Learn how to plant vegetables from seeds. We'll provide the seeds, planting supplies, and equipment. Take home your entire vegetable garden, seeded and ready to sprout.
During this workshop, we'll share seed starting methods, secrets for success, and answer all your seed starting questions including:
Which seeds to plant for summer and which to plant for other seasons
How to start different kinds of seeds
How to read seed packets
The best seed starting tools (you’ll be surprised!)
How to avoid common mistakes
We’ll make seed starting easy! Even experienced seed starters love this workshop – some come every spring!
